Health Foreign Policy:

Health Foreign Policy:

Globalisation, growing international networks and an increase in health problems that can only be addressed on a global level prompted the Medicus Mundi Switzerland network to become involved in the development of the Swiss Health Foreign Policy at an early stage. This is a foreign policy instrument used by Switzerland to address health challenges (pandemics, climate protection, disaster control, poverty, hunger, social inequality) as coherently as possible on an international level. The MMS network is committed to ensuring that Switzerland places the right to health worldwide at the centre of its Health Foreign Policy.

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM)

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM)

The Global Fund is one of the most important financial instruments to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. It was founded in 2002 with the task of raising and providing additional financial resources for the prevention and treatment of these three diseases. Without these funds, it will not be possible to end AIDS by 2030 or to effectively combat tuberculosis and malaria around the world. The GFATM works in close collaboration with local partners: governments, NGOs, the private sector, development organisations and local communities affected by HIV.

2030 Agenda

2030 Agenda

When they adopted the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development in 2015, the international community undertook a paradigm shift. For the first time, each state committed itself to a comprehensive global social contract to coherently address global challenges and problems in diverse areas. In a total of 17 goals and 169 targets, the 2030 Agenda sets out the foundations for a fairer and more sustainable world in which all people can live self-determined lives with dignity and security.
