The world’s population is getting younger and younger and they are affected by HIV and STIs, teenage pregnancy and gender-based violence. Young people need to be empowered and equipped to make healthy life choices and engage in meaningful and safe interpersonal relationships. During the conference, it became evident that the wishes and needs of young people are still not heard nor met due to various reasons such as taboos, cultural norms and values and the lack of engaging with them on this matter. The Network Medicus Mundi Switzerland advocates that young people must be included in each step of a program and must be educated to make responsible and safe life-choices.
